Telkwa - November 7, 2005
Minister Colin Hansen joins MLA Dennis MacKay and Telkwa Mayor Sharon Hartwell in touring the community's recently opened water treatment facility. The village has received about $1.15 million for the first phase of its water system upgrade. The $1.78 million project will improve water supply and treatment.

Prince Rupert - November 8, 2005
Minister Colin Hansen receives a briefing from Prince Rupter Port Authority CEO Don Krusel on the status of the development of the container facility in Prince Rupert. The Minister also spoke with students who were taking part in the Chamber of Commerce Networking Pilot Project which links business leaders with tomorrow's entrepreneurs.

Nanaimo - November 9, 2005

Minister Colin Hansen joins Nanaimo-Parksville MLA Ron Cantelon for a tour of downtown Nanaimo, visiting the site of the Port Theatre, local businesses and Gallery 223. Minister Hansen also met with members of the Parksville Economic Development Commission and the Nanaimo Indo-Canadian Business Association.

Comox - November 10, 2005
Minister Colin Hansen hosted a roundtable discussion with small business representatives in the Comox Valley and met with Cumberland Mayor Fred Bates, Comox Mayor Jim Brass and Courtenay Mayor Starr Winchester to discuss how to further economic development opportunities in the communities.

Courtenay - November 10, 2005
Minister Colin Hansen joined Comox Valley MLA Stan Hagen and other community representatives at the unveiling of the cultural heritage signage project in Courtenay. The Comox Valley Economic Development Society received $50,000 through Western Economic Partnership Agreement to develop the heritage signs, which will be located throughout the Comox Valley.
