At the Union of BC Municipalities annual convention, October 24, 2006, Premier Gordon Campbell and Colin Hansen, Minister of Economic Development spoke at a networking session held by the Northern Development Initiative Trust. They were joined by the Chairs of the four Regional Economic Trust groups, Bruce Sutherland, Northern Development Initiative Trust Chair, Jim Thomson, Southern Interior Development Initiative Trust Chair, Mayor Barry Janyk, Northern Development Initiative Trust Co-Chair and Chief Nathan Matthew, New Relationship Trust Chair, who all gave updates on how their Trust is being organized and its future potential to stimulate economic growth in the area.
