They'll become a valued member of your team and you'll help them in their career development.

Interns possess a wide range of skills that can be deployed in many ways:

• Research
• Environmental scans and database development
• Policy analysis and development
• Conference and event coordination
• Communications
• Website and manual development
• Community liaison

B.C. government ministries

Ministry placements vary from year to year and include diverse work assignments in Victoria, Vancouver and other regional locations.

Indigenous organizations

The Indigenous Youth Internship Program (IYIP) will annually seek expressions of interest from B.C. Indigenous organizations that can provide supportive, educational and meaningful work placements for Indigenous youth interns during the summer months.

The interns will be seconded to selected organizations from June to August with the interns' salary covered by the provincial government during the work placement.

Indigenous youth interns will be matched with the selected Indigenous organizations based on their interests, qualifications, education, experience, skills and location.

Requests for expressions of interest to host an Indigenous intern occur every year from January to March.
