Livestock relocation planning should consider the various elements involved and potential scenarios to help ensure producers are as prepared as possible for a range of emergencies that may require the relocation of their livestock.

Provincial support for livestock relocation

The B.C. government has developed a livestock relocation factsheet to assist and support producers in being as prepared as possible during emergencies. View information about the Minstry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness' livestock relocation policy:

Non-commercial farm business and pets

Provincial support for livestock relocation during emergencies has been developed to support commercial agricultural producers in the province, and is not intended to address non-commercial livestock or pets. If you are a non-farm business owner of livestock or pets you should be sure you have appropriate plans in place to care for your animals during an emergency.
